In lieu of slide shows, background video, and other marketing agency, self-promo and popping graphic tactics, we've string together an easy and economical way to auto-post new content. The blog connects via auto-post software, syndication occurs across multiple digital channels, and then a twitter feed integrated into our homepage creates an easily managed digital marketing ecosystem. A great strategy for small business and companies who want to run with less drain on resources. Just saying.

Congrats to Alex and Tanya - it was a beautiful evening and elegant wedding in Woodstock, Vt. Alex is now a big time digital ad dude in Southern California and seems to have a growing penchant (just like his former boss) for hand-rolled Cuban cigars. Best of luck from everyone at Shark!

Shark Releases New Social Media Marketing Infographic
Social media marketing simplified with Attract, Engage, Convert, Monitor model.
Burlington, VT—Award-winning creative and digital marketing agency, Shark Communications, has published a new, simplified, strategic chart for managing social media. The model is presented in the form of a colorful infographic, created by Shark in response to many of the agency’s executive-level clients looking for a more simplified perspective on social media marketing. By organizing social media initiatives into four key marketing categories: Attract, Engage, Convert, and Monitor. The infographic serves as a simplified visual strategy for managing social media marketing.
In the social media infographic, the Attract phase is defined as the widest part of the social media sales funnel and at this point, the primary goal is to distribute content that’s engaging and connected to your brand. The Engage phase involves messages directed towards people who are actively hunting for a solution. It’s the time to sculpt marketing around your products and services, referring them to dedicated web or landing pages. Convert means turning followers into customers with highly targeted and optimized content and landing pages built around a specific action. And, at the foundation of all social media marketing, there’s the need to Monitor, evaluate, and make adjustments to your next social media initiatives.
As Shark Creative Director, Peter Jacobs, notes, “Digital marketing can be earned, owned, or paid media. With paid media, the goals, overall strategy, and the ROI are often clear and understandable to the client. But with earned — or social — media (and especially client-managed social media marketing), the whole process seems less objective and a bit more ‘shotgun-like’ in approach. We then designed the infographic around some simple, strategic marketing phases so that it’s broad and easily understood.”

Based in NYC, Eastern Funding continues to successfully hit new milestones with expansion into new markets it serves, the addition of new staff and a new National Sales Manager, and recently surpassing $1Billion in financing over its history.

New Ads from Shark Communications set sophisticated tone for Boston, MA-based bank.
(pre-release for digital syndication)
Burlington, VT – September 2013 – A blend of creativity and sophistication sets the tone for new bank advertising from Shark Communications. Designed by Shark for Boston-based client Brookline Bank, the new marketing campaign features a series of upscale and stylish images, text, and headlines positioning the bank as a valuable partner to its customers. Initial ads to be launched include an image of a barefoot couple on a beach paired with the headline "Calm is three days with your shoes off... knowing your bank is always on." and an image of a luxury sports car with the headline "Exhilaration is shifting into high gear... and knowing your bank can too." The ads build on bank marketing initiated and designed by Shark in 2008, intended to reposition and broaden Brookline Bank's appeal to include a younger customer demographic.
Peter Jacobs, Shark Communications' Creative Director noted, "The new brand ads for Brookline Bank represent CEO Paul Perrault and Brookline executive management's preference for marketing that places more weight on well-crafted, well-managed brand image marketing. It's not only a smart and sophisticated bank marketing strategy, but quite different from most bank advertising that tends to lean toward more standard themes — community, trust, savings rates — with images that include head shots of smiling employees."
The new advertising (which can be seen on Shark Communication's website at www.sharkcomm.com) rolls out across the Greater Boston metro area as an integrated digital and traditional media campaign. Media channels include search engine display networks, direct placement and online media buys, mobile advertising, print media, outdoor, and posters inside Brookline Bank branch offices.

Risk Management, banking, Gregory B. Vit and McGill University: Props from Shark.
Hat's off to my esteemed friend, Gregory B. Vit, for the release of his new book, The Risk in Risk Management now available on Amazon. A Director and Professor at the Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies, McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Dr. Vit's treatise on banking, financial institutions and the problem of conformity is no easy read. But as a bank marketing dude, still climbing the upslope on the Stanford-Binet Bell curve, I actually enjoy the persepctive from an academic who is over the top and shussing the down slope. With that said, I had to give it my own twist with a house ad. Also, hats-off, or Chapeau! to senior designer,Christian Lepage.
From Shark PR: Brookline Bank Offers Home Equity Solutions With Low HELOC Rates.
BROOKLINE, MA--(Marketwire - Sep 24, 2012) - With a current Home Equity Line of Credit being offered for as low as 2.99% Annual Percentage Rate (APR)*, Brookline Bank continues its focus on providing Greater Boston homeowners with a range of home equity financing solutions, including home equity lines of credit and home equity loans.
To make this low 2.99% APR home equity line of credit (HELOC) offer more accessible to homeowners, the bank has launched Brookline BankHomeEquity.com -- an online destination for web, mobile and tablet devices. Visitors to BrooklineBankHomeEquity.com will find Brookline Bank's best home equity credit line rate and a link to its short, online pre-application form where homeowners can get a head start on the application process.
Generally speaking, a home equity line of credit allows customers to get a variable rate and withdraw funds only when needed, while a home equity loan provides one lump sum and a fixed rate of payment. On its main website BrooklineBank.com, Brookline Bank encourages homeowners to research the different features and benefits of home equity lines of credit and home equity loans, to make sure their financing choice best matches their borrowing needs and repayment preferences.
A home equity line of credit from Brookline Bank offers a variable APR currently as low as Prime minus .26%, no set draw or repayment period, no expiration date, and no application fees, points or closing costs. Brookline Bank's home equity loan is available in 5-year and 10-year terms, and has no application fees, points or closing costs.**

* The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) may vary monthly and will be based on the Prime Rate as listed in The Wall Street Journal (Prime) plus a margin. The APR will not be less than 2.99% APR or more than 18% APR. As of 9/1/12 the Prime Rate is 3.25%. The APR will also depend on the amount of the credit line that we approve. For lines of $100,000 to $500,000, the APR will be Prime -.26%, currently 2.99% APR. For lines of $50,000 to $99,999, the APR will be Prime +.74%, currently 3.99% APR. For lines of $10,000 to $49,999, the APR will be Prime +1.10%, currently 4.35% APR. All APRs reflect a .26% Autopay discount. In some instances, the APR calculation used could result in a fully indexed APR below the minimum APR of 2.99%. If this occurs, your APR will not be less than 2.99%. Property hazard insurance required. No closing costs except for cooperatives and properties held in a trust. $40 Annual Fee is waived for first year. Early termination of $350 fee applies. Other terms and conditions and restrictions apply. Offer subject to change without notice.
** As of 9/1/12, a 3.99% APR is available for a 5-year loan with a minimum $50,000 borrowed amount. As of 9/1/12, a 5.99% APR is available for a 10-year loan with $10,000-$49,999 borrowed amount. A $25,000 loan at 5.99% APR for 10 years requires 120 monthly payments of $277.50, an $11.10 payment per $1,000 borrowed. If your loan is a first lien loan, these payment examples do not include taxes or insurance and therefore your payments will be greater.
